12 Easy Yoga Poses For Two People

1) Partner Forward Fold

How To Do It:

  1. Sit opposite your partner with both of your legs wide apart and straightened out, with the soles of your feet touching.
  2. Gently grab each other’s forearms.
  3. In one fluid movement, one of you slowly hinges forward while the other pulls you gently towards them.
  4. Keep going until you feel a slight stretch in your hamstrings.
  5. Hold for a few breaths, then reverse the movement.

2) Seated Breathing Pose

How To Do It:

  1. Sit cross-legged with your back against each other.
  2. One of you wraps their hands around the other, while the other places their hands on yours.
  3. Hold for a few breaths.

3) Seated Cat Cow

How To Do It:

  1. Sit cross-legged opposite your partner.
  2. Gently grab each other’s forearms and hold on.
  3. Inhale, and bring your chests up while pushing your shoulders down and lifting your heads up.
  4. Exhale, and reverse the movement by rounding your back, stretching your shoulders, and looking down.
  5. Repeat.

4) Seated Twist Pose

How To Do It:

  1. From a Seated Breathing Pose (Move #2), twist your torso, while touching your right knee with your left arm, and your partner’s left knee with your right arm.
  2. Hold for at least 10 breaths then reverse the movement.

5) Chair Pose

How To Do It:

  1. Stand back to back with your partner with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Slowly walk out your feet a little and lean into your partner’s back for support. Interlace your arms with each other for extra stability.
  3. Slowly, squat down into a chair pose.
  4. Keep pushing against each other’s backs for stability.
  5. Hold this pose for a few breaths, and then slowly come back up and walk your feet in.

6) Temple Pose

How To Do It:

  1. Stand tall, facing each other with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Inhale and extend your arms overhead.
  3. Exhale and hinge them forward until you meet hands with your partner.
  4. Once you are in this position, start folding forward whole touching your elbows, forearms, and hands with your partner.
  5. Hold for a few breaths, then slowly walk towards each other, bringing your torso upright and releasing your arms down.

7) Twin Tree Pose

How To Do It:

  1. Stand next to each other, shoulder to shoulder.
  2. Assure your inside legs, your and your partner’s, are strong and steady.
  3. Slowly lift your other legs bending them at the knee and placing the soles of your feet against the inside of your thighs.
  4. Hold each other together with your arms in front, and with the touching arms facing above your head.

8) Double Dancer Pose

How To Do It:

  1. Stand tall, facing your partner.
  2. Start raising your right arm overhead, at the same time, bringing your palms to meet in the middle.
  3. Grab your left ankle, at the same time as your partner, and start bringing your foot to your bottom.
  4. Begin to bend at the waist toward each other, pressing into your hands and guiding your foot up toward the sky.
  5. Hold for 10 breaths.

9)Supported Child Pose

How To Do It:

  1. Get into a child’s pose position.
  2. Your partner slowly leans backward, sits on your lower back, and lays on top of you from the head to the hips and lower back.
  3. Stay here for a few breaths then reverse the movement.

10) Double Down Dog

How To Do It:

  1. Get into a downward-facing dog position.
  2. Your partner put their hands in front of you, then slowly steps their feet back onto your lower back.
  3. While they are looking forward, they straighten their arms and legs.
  4. Stay in this pose for 8-10 breaths.
  5. Reverse the movement.

11) Double Bridge Pose

How To Do It

  1. Your partner gets into a bridge pose, with their hands reaching out to their heels to meet your hands.
  2. Meet your partner’s hands, then pushing from your triceps, place the soles of your feet, one at a time, on your partner’s thighs, above their knees.
  3. Stay in this pose for 10 breaths.
  4. Reverse the movement.

12) Warrior 3

How To Do It:

  1. Stand tall facing each other.
  2. Your partner moves into Warrior 3 by standing on one straight leg, while the other one lifts up and straight.
  3. Begin to get into Warrior 3 as well.
  4. You both wrap your arms towards the inner thigh of your partner then hold onto your partner’s calf. Assure there is a slight bend in both of your knees.
  5. Hold for 8-10 breaths, then slowly come back to a forward fold before you release.
