My Simple Morning Routine Checklist That Has Transformed My Mind
This simple morning routine checklist has created major mindset shifts in my life! Download the checklist and try it out for yourself!
Having a morning routine has become everyone’s latest obsession. So I decided to focus on my mindset needs and mood, and put a simple morning routine checklist together that has honestly transformed my mind!
There are many ways you can approach a morning routine. You can do the spiritual approach, think meditation, journaling, scripting, etc.
You can also try the workout approach where you basically exercise in the morning. That includes any kind of exercise such as pilates, yoga, HIIT, weight lifting, etc.
Even simpler than that, your morning routine can include coffee drinking on the balcony (or indoors) in peace and quiet, away from any devices.
Social media might be blowing up with ways to start your morning, but in my opinion, it should all come down to your needs.
Do you want to start your day off more energetically? Then add a 10-minute gentle yoga flow.
Perhaps you want to start your day off with a positive mindset – in which case you can do a 5-minute meditation where you learn how to remain centered and calm despite your external environment.
I am currently focusing on my spiritual journey so my morning routine checklist is heavily influenced by that!
Here is my simple morning routine checklist which focuses on spirituality and intention setting.
My Simple Morning Routine Checklist
1. I go to bed and wake up at the same time everyday.
That doesn’t mean waking up at 6 or 7 am. It simply means sticking to a time frame that works for you and your schedule.
How has this helped me: Going to bed and waking up at the same time everyday helps our body’s internal clock work like a charm! This leads to our bodily cycles operating efficiently, keeping our energy levels high, and our minds clear and well-rested throughout the day.
2. I start my day with a meditation session.
The benefits of meditation are endless. Morning meditation sessions help you remain calm and centered throughout your day. It might be uncomfortable at first, but just like learning anything new, practice and patience will eventually make the whole process enjoyable and life-changing!
Start with short sessions, in the 1-5 minute range. You can try doing it alone by simply placing your hands where you can feel your breath, and focusing on every inhale and every exhale. You can also try a meditation app, such as Headspace, or just pop one on Youtube!

3. I journal and set intentions for the day ahead of me.
Journaling is an incredible way to create major mind shifts. Sometimes life can get pretty hectic, and as much as you may want to stay calm or positive, thoughts can overwhelm your mind and flush out any good intentions you were trying to memorize.
Writing, however, or journaling, is a much more effective way to set your intentions. It is a concrete, physical exercise.
Grab a notebook and write down a couple of journal prompts that resonate with you and your current situation.
You can also write 3 things you are grateful for!
Then set as many intentions for the day as you wish. Here are a few ideas in one of my latest intention-setting posts:

4. I occasionally do a gentle yoga flow.
Yoga in the morning can have an incredible effect on your body and energy levels! Tip: Keep it short and sweet with 5-10 minute sessions.
